Though a few plot elements struck me as well, contrived and the second half of the book segued into some melodrama that was pretty darn melodramatic, Her Ladyship’s Companion should leave many historical romance readers hopeful that a new author might be stepping up to the auto-buy plate.

When else do you get a chance to read an early book by an acclaimed new author, published 25 years before her current releases and yet is a sequel to the present series, with two major characters in common.
As it is, I haven’t even yet read The Spymaster’s. Her story is full of gregariousness and eccentricity, as well as being a poignant account of the history of a woman with an indomitable spirit and love of life.
